Heavy-grade magnesium carbonate
Product Description
Introduction
Heavy magnesium carbonate (MgCO₃) is an important inorganic chemical material, typically refined from high-quality magnesite ore, characterized by high purity and excellent chemical stability. It appears as a white odorless powder, remains stable at high temperatures, and is resistant to chemical reactions in humid environments. Its relative density is approximately 3.58 g/cm³, with a bulk density of 0.5–1.0 g/cm³, depending on particle shape and compaction degree. Common particle size ranges from 100–500 µm, with a specific surface area of about 3–10 m²/g, moisture content usually below 1%, slightly soluble in water but soluble in acidic solutions.
Application Fields
Rubber and Plastic Industry
Used as a filler to enhance material strength, hardness, and wear resistance, widely applied in the manufacture of tires, cables, and seals.
Coatings and Paints
Used as a white pigment to improve coverage and corrosion resistance of coatings, applied in construction, automotive, and marine paints.
Food Industry
Used as an anti-caking agent and acidity regulator, commonly found in flour, beverages, and dairy products.
Pharmaceuticals and Cosmetics
Due to its good hygroscopicity, it is often used as a desiccant and anti-caking agent to improve product stability.
Firefighting Equipment
Used in the production of fire extinguishers and fire extinguishing powders, widely applied in the firefighting industry due to its high-temperature resistance.
Agricultural Field
Used as a soil conditioner and plant fertilizer, providing magnesium essential for plant growth and promoting plant development.
